Oatmeal Cacao Chill Bites

I’ve always loved a good at-home workout and Kait Hurley’s online move + meditate program is my favorite. I discovered Kait’s program in November 2017 and was hooked immediately. She has high intensity and restorative classes, ranging from 20-50 minutes. And, each class finishes with a meditation. Kait’s method of movement first followed by meditation was the only one that allowed me to get into a consistent meditation routine. Kait has become a dear friend of mine and we created a week long program that’s available via her App and her website! I chose 3 of my favorite workout classes and paired each with a delicious and nutritious recipe. You can sign up for a FREE 14 day trial of Kait’s App & Website here to gain access to all her classes and my program!

I created these oatmeal cacao bites for the 3rd class of the program: Chill Yoga Flow. Enjoy these after the gorgeous hip opening flow or any time you need some extra support to relax and calm your nerves. These bites are loaded with magnesium, a powerful nutrient that helps regulate the body's stress response, plays a key role in energy production, and helps stabilize your mood.

OATMEAL CACAO CHILL BITES (makes ~20)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Oats

  • 2/3 cup coconut flakes

  • 3/4 cup almond butter

  • 1/2 cup ground flax

  • 10 dates

  • 4 tbsp hot water

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup cacao nibs

Directions

  1. Take a small bowl and place the dates + 4 tbsp of hot water. Let these sit while you prepare all the other ingredients.

  2. Add all ingredients, except the dates, into the food processor or high speed blender. Then, add in the dates and the hot water.

  3. Blend/process until a large ball forms.

  4. Roll the mixture into balls (makes about 20) and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

  5. Enjoy these after Kait's Chill Yoga Flow or for a healthy, nutrient dense snack.
